This is from the work in Calcoene, where we do have teh sponsorship program JIREH up running with around 10 families being assisted. We were able to focus more the health area last time going in December 2020, as we had volunteers coming along to give teaching and had individual conversations with the families.
The main part of the sponsors are from England. And a big thank you to the sponsors for their faithfulness, also for their prayers for the families.
We are grateful to the Lord for our health, making us able to continue the work and also His protection upon our lives in 2020. Even though it was a very different and in many ways hard year 2020 with the pandemic situation worldwide and restrictions, and also the loss of some beloved ones, We thank God for the capacity to process the time, we live in, and it is demanding for sure more flexibility of us all.
We have been able to carry out some activities, though not all of the planned once:
In Ceara, with the Childrens House, we have been focusing more help to families, food parcels to a number of more than 70 mainly rual families in June, July and August, was a different way of contact in the local community in the municipality of Aquiraz.
Also a few courses, workshops and activities for women and children did take place some months of the year and a campaign to beat against anemic problems is up running here in Ceara and also in the North. A calendar has been printed and given out in communities to create more awareness in the health area, and a team of some young girls are being created to prepare for opportunities next year to present drama and puppetshow etc. at local schools, treating actual themes like anemica problems, security in the traffic, bullying, dealing with fear and anxiety etc.
IN AMAPA in the North, we have been spending nearly 3 months of the year at the filial in Gurupora, municipality of Cutias, with the challenges of construction of the base of the Mission Victory, and also running short intensive courses and workshops, and playgrup of smaller children. Also families in Calçoene in the sponsorship program JIREH have been visited several times, and had help and counselling especially in the health area, and the well being of the family the purpose too. NEWS FROM THE AMAZON In the end of August and the 3 first weeks of September, 2020, we did go to Para and Amapá a small team in order to work with local communities in Calçoene and Gurupora - to strengthen families. So we are grateful always for the prayers on our behalf, as we felt in a special way Gods protection and guidance during the trip ! And we give thanks to many, who did help us in one or another way !
The Brazilian Jessica did go on the trip up North as a short term volunteer, first time leaving her state of Ceara, so it was a very experienceful time for her, a time of new challenges and growth. She has a call to mission, so do pray for her!
In the future, we hope to be able to offer for others to go on an adventure trip too....
